Earth Science Women's Network (ESWN) Career Workshop

Building Leadership Skills for Success in Scientific Organizations

13-14 December 2008

San Francisco, CA

ESWN website

I will always remember this meeting because the topic was very interesting.  This group of women spent the whole meeting working on ways to support each other in the Earth Sciences world and in general.  They brought in life coaches to work with women in a group and also, women speakers who have done so much in the field who spent time  talking about how they got there.  They had motivational coaches as well.  I love that they allowed me to sit in and observe.  It was a wonderful opportunity for me to be a part of this type meeting.

The women spent the rest of the afternoon in the meeting room continuing their conversations once the meeting adjourned.  As they walked out, so many said thank you and how much they appreciated a meeting of this nature.  Everyone seemed so happy and energized afterwards.
