Focus of the WRF Workshop

The overall purpose is to increase the ability of Middle Eastern scientists, faculty, and students to use the WRF atmospheric model to meet regional societal needs, through more effective research related to atmospheric processes, environmental quality, climate change, and operational weather prediction. Components of the conference include:

• A tutorial that will provide hands-on training in the use of the WRF model for research.
• A short course in numerical weather prediction.
• Summaries of how WRF can be used for regional-climate studies, air-quality studies, and operational weather prediction.
• Description of how WRF users can access global meteorological analyses and observations from their home institutions.
